Sundberg Tax & Consulting was started by Justin Sundberg. Justin began his career by working for a [tipsy content=”The four largest audit and tax public accounting firms in the world. These firms have an excellent reputation for developing individuals into successful professionals and giving them the work habits that allow for a fruitful career.” group=”13″ use_oembed=”false” ]Big Four accounting firm[/tipsy]. After learning the best work-product techniques and the best tax methods, including the ability to see tax opportunities, Justin began working at some of the smaller firms in the Twin Cities market to work with smaller businesses, something that has been a passion since he began his entrepreneurship studies. When working with smaller tax firms, Justin brought opportunities for additional deductions to management’s attention that would benefit the firms’ clients. While the senior managers were familiar with the deductions, they tended to ignore them, claiming that they were immaterial. Justin asserts that small businesses should use every possible advantage in the tax law, and he developed processes to efficiently use these advantages. This experience led to the forming of Justin D. Sundberg, CPA LLC, which operates as Sundberg Tax & Consulting. In practice, Sundberg Tax & Consulting was able to amend a tax return that had been inaccurately prepared by another service. Just by correcting the return, we were able to secure over $10,000 of deductions that had been overlooked. By also electing a tax accounting method commonly used by Fortune 500 companies, we added over $12,000 of deductions. The von Maur family opened its first store in the late 1800's. The rented store was 20 by 50 feet, located in Davenport, Iowa. We have come a long way since that cozy shop. Today, 37 Von Maur stores are scattered across 15 states: Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma and Wisconsin; and still expanding. Our corporate headquarters and E-commerce store are still proudly located in Davenport, Iowa. The strength of the Von Maur brand lies in our enjoyable and unique shopping experience. The backbone of this experience is our wide selection of brand-name merchandise, open and attractive store design, amenities that enhance the customer experience and our commitment to excellent customer service. 1872JHC Petersen opens a store with his three sons called JHC Petersen's Sons Co. 1887CJ von Maur established the "Boston Store" in Davenport, IA, with partners Rolland Harned and Edward Pursel. 1916The Petersen family sold their store to Harned & von Maur. 1928Harned & von Maur physically merged with Petersen's into one location and the store was renamed Petersen Harned & von Maur. 1937The von Maur family took full ownership of the store. 1989"Petersen, Harned Von Maur" is changed to "Von Maur". 1990Von Maur's corporate headquarters moved from the Redstone Building to the current distribution center, which is closer to Interstate 80 in Davenport. 2010Von Maur expands to open a brand new E-Commerce facility with the best technologies available. 2021More stores have been scheduled to open throughout the U.S. [read more]
